What is True Success

What is true success to you? Is it by achieving Goals, growth, money, things, or attention? Today’s world strives for success by reading books, listening to motivational speakers, and doing all sorts of things to obtain success. I am not saying it is wrong or right; we are doing whatever it takes to be successful. We cannot achieve true success unless we fully understand what it is. Everyone has their definition of what success is and what true success would mean to them.

In the world view, we define true success as attaining wealth, fame, power, or status. However, from a biblical perspective, true success is not measured by these external factors but rather by our relationship with God and how we live our lives according to his will. We are not to live in bondage, brokenness, or failure. We are here to live a life of God-given power, purpose, and accomplishment. God’s intention is for us to be truly successful. We are to have true freedom, wholeness, and success.

True success is what God has for each one of us. It is necessary to know that God’s definition of true success is not to live on the world’s own. His ways are different from the world. His word says that his thoughts are not like ours, and his way is not like our ways. To understand true success, we know who we are in the Lord and never violate that. God has a beneficial future for us, no matter how things are or appear. He tells us his plans for us are for good and not for destruction. Trust his perfect plan for you. When we do what God has called, he blesses our works and makes us prosper.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

True success doesn’t mean we are devoid of problems. It means that whenever we go through a difficult time, we have a deep sense that God is with us and will bring us out if it succeeds. It means that God’s hand is on our lives, and he will make all our paths straight to the glory of his name. God assures us that we are not alone. He is with us even when we do not feel we are successful. True success also means we get to know more of God aside from ourselves. We understand his heart for us and honor him by living according to his ways.

True success means getting close to God. Believing God is more majestic than anything as he created the whole world. God wants us to become who he made us to be. We need to accept that who we are is perfect. The knowledge of self frees us from constantly comparing ourselves with others and always feeling that we come up short. Being close to knowing and knowing who we are liberates us from measuring our worth with the world’s standards.

True success is not just about what we do but also who we are becoming. As we grow in our relationship with God and become more like him, we experience the accurate form of success. True success is not achieving power, wealth, or status but rather living a life that reflects our commitment to God and his kingdom. It is about fulfilling our purpose and impacting the world positively, now and for eternity.
