Keller went on to earn a Doctor of Ministry degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1981. Timothy Keller is married to Kathy Keller. They have three sons together: David, Michael, and Jonathan.

In 1989, Keller co-founded Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, which has become a prominent and influential congregation. Under his leadership, Redeemer grew significantly and played a vital role in shaping a modern, urban approach to Christian ministry.
