Pompi, whose real name is Chaka Nyathando, was born on May 6, 1985, in Kitwe, Zambia. He developed a passion for music from a young age and started his musical journey in the church.  27th November 2020, Pompi got engaged to fellow gospel artist Esther Chungu Mubanga and a year later the two got married in a colorful wedding ceremony.
