Benny Hinn invited for government-sponsored crusade

American-Canadian televangelist Benny Hinn is set to hold a crusade in Kenya, over two decades after his last visit. The visit is by by First Lady Rachel Ruto for government-sponsored crusade. The crusade starts on Saturday, February 24th & Sunday, February 25th at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi, Kenya.

In the video above, the preacher said he was invited to hold a crusade by First Lady Rachel Ruto and it would be government-sponsored.

Benny Hinn added that this was only the second time he was approached to hold a crusade sponsored by the government, the first time being in Papua, Indonesia.

“Something amazing happened just four weeks ago. The First Lady of Kenya flew from Nairobi with her team just for one reason…to ask me to come back to Nairobi.

“For a government-sponsored crusade. We haven’t had that in a long time where the first lady of a nation comes and says we want to hold a crusade sponsored and supported by the government. The only time we had that was in Indonesia,” he said.

Benny Hinn also plans to hold a crusade in Uganda around the same time.

Rachel has often worked closely with preachers and ministers of the word and it was evident when her husband William Ruto was sworn in as President as she invited evangelists and gospel entertainers to State House.

Benny Hinn was born in 1952 in Jaffa, Israel to Greek Palestinian parents. His family immigrated to Toronto, Canada when he was a young boy. Even from an early age, Benny felt called to Christian ministry. As a teenager, he began preaching at small churches.

In 1973, Benny had a profound religious experience that he credits with giving him the gift of healing. He soon founded his own ministry, which focused on faith healing and miracles. Benny’s energetic preaching style and claims of spectacular healings drew huge crowds to his crusades all over the world.

In the 1980s and 90s, Benny’s ministry exploded in popularity. His televised miracle crusades, broadcast on major Christian networks, reached a global audience of millions. Believers would flock to stadiums hoping to be healed of incurable diseases and disabilities.
